$2.2 MILLION IN METHAMPHETAMINE WAS FOUND IN A WOMAN'S SUV
U.S. Customs and Border Protection thwarted a smuggling attempt of methamphetamine worth $2,283,000 discovered in the SUV a woman from Mexico was driving.
Officers working at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge in Hildalgo, Texas on March 24, 2021 encountered a 34-year-old woman driving a Ford SUV arriving from Mexico. A thorough subsequent examination which included the assistance of a police dog resulted in officers discovering that the vehicle’s tires contained suspected narcotics.
Further examination yielded 24 packages weighing 114 pounds of methamphetamine.
The woman was arrested and the drugs were seized.
