U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a U.S. citizen involved in transporting approximately 33 pounds of marijuana near Ogdensburg, NY on Saturday, March 25.

On Saturday, March 23, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Ogdensburg Border Patrol Station observed a suspicious vehicle traveling west on State Highway 37. The vehicle pulled into a gas station in Ogdensburg and the driver began pumping gas into the vehicle.

  Agents approached the driver to speak to him and noticed a large duffel bag in the back of the vehicle. When agents asked the driver what was in the bag, he denied knowing that there was a duffel bag in the vehicle. A Border Patrol K9 team alerted to the vehicle, indicating the presence of drugs. 

Agents discovered approximately 33 pounds of marijuana hidden in a large duffel bag.

The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Ogdensburg Station for further processing. After initial processing by the U.S. Border Patrol, the individual and marijuana was turned over to the New York State Police. The suspect faces felony charges of Criminal Possession of Marijuana 1st degree.
