OFFICERS SEIZE $287,000 WORTH OF COCAINE IN TEXAS

Cocaine worth $287,000 was taken out of the hands of drug dealers

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers Laredo, Texas recently intercepted a significant narcotic load with an estimated street value of more than $287,000 in one enforcement action. 

The seizure occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at the World Trade Bridge when a officer referred a 2018 Kenworth tractor driven by a 28-year-old male Mexican citizen resident of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico for a secondary examination. Following a canine and non-intrusive imaging inspection, officers discovered 14 packages containing a total of 37 pounds of alleged cocaine within the vehicle. The narcotics have an estimated street value of $287,980.

Officers seized the narcotics and the tractor. The driver was arrested and the case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation.
