$4,343,000 in methamphetamine was intercepted at a cargo facility by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on April 17, 2021 in Pharr, Texas. The meth was being smuggled in a commercial shipment of fresh produce.

A tractor-trailer truck entered the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge cargo facility and was hauling a commercial shipment of fresh cucumber pickles. A more thorough examination by federal officials led to the discovery of 114 packages of methamphetamine weighing 217 pounds concealed within the truck.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized the narcotics and the tractor-trailer. The case remains under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations.
