UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS FOUND BEING SMUGGLED IN TRUCK

A smuggling attempt in a pick-up truck landed several undocumented immigrants behind bars

On May 14, 2020 in Laredo, Texas Border Patrol Agents working south of U.S. Highway 59 performed a patrol stop on a black pickup truck.

During an immigration inspection, it was determined the driver was a U.S. Citizen, and the other four occupants were illegally present in the United States from the countries of Mexico and Honduras.

All occupants were placed under arrest. The driver and truck were turned over to Duval County Sheriff’s Office to face state charges.

Despite the ongoing international COVID-19 pandemic, immigrant smugglers endanger the lives of individuals they transport and put at risk the health and safety of our Nation.  U.S. Border Patrol agents strive to prevent the flow of illegal immigration and slow the spread of COVID-19.
