Two FBI agents were killed in a shooting and three were wounded on February 2, 2021 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The FBI agents were serving a federal search warrant on a suspect in a child exploitation case. The suspect was also killed during the standoff in which he barricaded himself inside a home, said FBI Miami Special Agent Michael D. Leverock.
The FBI descended on a home and as agents were approaching the suspect opened fire on the FBI, shooting 5 agents in total. 2 agents were shot and killed and 3 other agents were shot and wounded.
The 3 wounded FBI agents were taken to hospitals to be treated and are in stable condition.
