Deshawn Clipper, 31, murdered his girlfriend Stephanie Potts, 35, during a escalated argument on November 4, 2018 in Charlotte, NC.
The homicide occurred on Black Chestnut Place where the couple shared several children together.
Officers responded to a check the welfare call in the 13100 block of Black Chesnut Place on the day of the murder. Upon arrival, officers located Stephanie deceased inside of the residence.
Earlier this morning, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department detectives developed information on the whereabouts of Deshawn who was wanted in connection with the murder of Stephanie. Detectives collaborated with the Greensboro Police Department (North Carolina) who located and arrested Deshawn without incident.
Detectives traveled to Guilford County and took custody of Deshawn and transported him to the Charlotte jail.
Detectives have determined that the victim and suspect were in an intimate partner relationship and this was not a random act of violence.
