A 2022 Memorial Day weekend double homicide resulted in 25-year-old Darion McClendon and his 4-month-old son Da’mari McClendon being shot and killed in Monroe, NC on May 29, 2022.

Darion and Da'mari were shot at a home on Morrow Avenue. A suspect or suspects approached in a drive-by shooting and shot several times. Both father and son were shot, and they died at the scene.
