DOUBLE HOMICIDE IN CENTRAL CHARLOTTE OVERNIGHT

Two men were killed in a shooting, a third man was also shot. Likely the result of drug deal gone bad

Ibn Marshall, 17, and Anu’bius Smith, 19, were shot dead on Grandin Road on Wednesday night in Charlotte, NC.

A male with apparent gunshot wounds was located by authorities in a parking lot at 1432 W. Morehead Street.

Ibn and Anu'bius were located in a vehicle approximately two blocks away on Grandin Road. All three victims were transported to the hospital by medics. Ibn and Anu'bius were pronounced deceased by hospital staff.

The initial investigation has revealed that all three victims were shot on Grandin Street, Ibn and Anu'bius remained inside the vehicle while the third victim ran to the parking lot down the street.

It is likely that the murders were the result of a drug deal gone bad because two firearms and marijuana were located and seized at the crime scene.
