A South Dade High School computer technician has been arrested on accusations he engaged in sexual acts with a 15-year-old male student at the school.
Victor Brantley, 45, was booked into a Miami-Dade jail late Tuesday on charges including lewd and lascivious activity with a minor, transmitting child pornography and using the Internet to arrange travel to meet a minor for sexual activity.
In April 2019 Victor allegedly started talking to the teen on “Grindr,” a social-media app that connects men with other men for dates and sex.
The two exchanged explicit photos, police said. Victor, who has worked with the school district for 25 years, later drove to the teen’s house and the two engaged in sex acts, police said.
This was Victor’s first time in trouble, according to the Miami-Dade school district. The school district has made plans to fire Victor sense his arrest.
The Miami-Dade school district said the following:
“The allegations against this individual are inexcusable and shameful. Employees are routinely familiarized with School Board policy and kept apprised of any updates—especially where employee-student interactions are concerned.”
Victor has since posted bond and left jail.
