INMATE RELEASED FROM CHARLOTTE JAIL BY ACCIDENT, JAIL WANTS HIM BACK
Inmate Quay Davis, 29, was accidentally released from the Mecklenburg County Jail on 801 East 4th Street Charlotte, NC.
Jail officials are now investigating Quay's erroneous release.
Quay was transported to the jail on April 12, 2022 from another jail on a writ hold and immediately appeared in court.
Quay was then served with a warrant from Pasquotank County for possession of weapon by a prisoner and received a $75,000 secured bond.
Quay's court information was entered incorrectly without the writ hold added. Subsequently, he was erroneously released on May 9, 2022, at 10:54 a.m., due to the possession of weapon charge being voluntarily dismissed. The jail was notified about the error on May 13, 2022.
Many problems have plagued the jail under sheriff Gary Mcfadden's leadership.
