An arrest was made after a woman was kidnapped and raped on Halloween 2021 after a party

Detectives with the Sexual Assault Unit have charged Tristian Gilmore, 29, with rape, forced sex offense, and kidnapping. Tristian is accused of raping a 23-year-old Asian woman on Halloween 2021 in Charlotte, NC.

The female victim was walking to her car after a Halloween party on October 31, 2021 around 5 a.m. on Ethel Guest Ln.

A male suspect approached her from behind and forced her into his vehicle at gunpoint. Officials say the suspect drove the woman to an unknown location and proceeded to rape and sexually assault her.

The suspect then kicked the woman out of his vehicle and drove off.

From evidence recovered, a DNA profile was obtained and allegedly matched to Tristian. As a result, warrants were obtained for his arrest.

On November 19, 2021, Tristian was arrested and charged with assault by pointing a firearm, communicating threats, assault on a female, 1st degree kidnapping, 1st degree sex offense, 1st degree rape, and possession of a firearm by felon.
