On July 13, 2022 in Charlotte, NC Dametri Dale, 24, was convicted of statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger and two counts of indecent liberties with a child. Dametri met the 13-year-old girl at a church conference, he would later have sexual relations with her in a hotel room.
Dametri met the teenage girl at a national church conference that the victim attended with her church.
Dametri began communicating with the victim through social media, and in 2017, he left his home in Florida and traveled to Charlotte, NC. While in Charlotte, Dametri picked up the teenage girl and brought her to his hotel room, where he sexually assaulted her.

DNA evidence discovered in the teenage victim’s sexual assault forensic exam and on the defendant corroborated the victim’s account. The evidence identified Dametri as the perpetrator.
The teenage girl is now 18-years-old. At trial the victim was cross examined on the witness stand by Dametri, who chose to represent himself.
The jury found Dametri guilty. The judge then sentenced Dametri to a total of 117-211 months in prison. He was also sentenced to an additional 21-35 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending his successful completion of 60 months of supervised probation.
Upon his release from prison, Dametri must register as a sex offender for 30 years.
