This shit is sickening. A man commits suicide and it's a "inconvenience" to motorists? Yes, I'm sure it is. But how about the victim? He must of been suffering for a long time.

What bothers me the most about this article, is how the writer excused the human part of this person, and turned him into an "inconvenience." No one knows what goes through the mind, of a person, feeling the need to end his, or her life. No one can see the inside of this person, or the hopelessness they're feeling, when they make that decision to follow through. Ultimately, the decision comes without thoughts of tomorrow, or, with an overwhelming desire to spare others in their lives, from having to deal with them. This article, and I am certain, many to follow, will attempt to explain why someone would make the decision to end their life. I just hope, that those who write about this subject in the future, will remember that the person was a WHOLE HUMAN BEING. And, that whole human being, now has a family that is permanently without, that whole human being. God Bless him, and his family.

So we just gone say a man named Chris???? ...God please help the minds that feel closed and lost. Be kind to others. Be helpful and show compassion. My prayers to his family. Just had a friend buried literally thod past Saturday from suicide. 21 yrs old. Would've been 22 may 19! A man named Chris tho???!!!! Really??!! Yes I can understand running out of gas no air and no food esp having babies. Its essential to point out the chain effect of such an action and how others are impacted, but to down play the suicide and not even recognize the individual is sad. Prayers to all who witnessed it and maybe even hit him unexpectedly. I love you all

Poor fella. I'm really sorry to hear about this. Its unreal how callous this world is anymore, and appalling how much NC utterly lacks compassion that when a person is driven to this extreme, whiners come out to carry on abt "inconvenience". Its reminiscent of how NC & the rest of the seedy south treat minorities, immigrants, the homeless, etc. Then, they want to hold surveys, like Fayetteville, to find out why ppl hold them in contempt. HELLLLOOOOOO! ANYONE IN THERE?! SMDH. WHAT ABOUT BASIC HUMANITY?! SOCIETY REALLY SUCKS... HUH... PERHAPS THAT'S WHAT THIS POOR SOUL WAS STRUGGLING WITH- WAKE THE F UP PPL!!!!! TREAT OTHERS RIGHT!!!!! IT MAY JUST BE THAT GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT THE BIGGEST THREAT RIGHT NOW!

It is sad any person feels that is the only way out is to take their and I hate it for his family.I was one of those who was stuck in traffic during the 6+ hours of shutdown. It wasn't as bad as Chris losing his life of course however it wasn't fun at all.I for one hadn't eat since 1pm or peed since 5 pm. I got stopped @10:54pm and didn't get home until 5:10 am.so yes I was tired, sleepy, hungry & past ready to pee. Thankfully I did have plenty of gas but there was more then a few who ran out of gas.the worst of it was parents trying to explain to their hungry children there was no food or drink for them.I had some chips in my car that I gave to 2 kids however one family I chatted with had a 5 month old baby and not enough milk with them. The mother was in tears because her small child was hungry and crying non stop. I saw men women & children using the bathroom outside of their vehicles. I think they could have done better with the traffic situation. they could have started detours long before they did. Had it been only a hour or two shut down then maybe the news wouldn't have had much to say but it was over 6 hours. And until the last hour people didn't know what was going on.I myself called 911 because we all thought at first they was working on the road.

NAMI will say, "He fell though the cracks". The same lame duck excuse, when they help people. NAMI is a business, take your medication is standard practice. Where the medication success rate is low and could turn patients violent. Where as i say, inhale marijuana for a few hours and within a year. That mental illness ("bipolar, depression, schizophrenia, or whatever it is") will be gone. But NAMI has been using fear and retaliation against me because "it works".

It's sad how he just committed suicide and the topic of suicide nor him was acknowledged. The only thing that was acknowledged was the fact that people in cars had to wait for hours while they were trying to figure the situation out. What about the people that just lost a brother may be a father a son. Smh

My husband was killed in an auto accident and all the news talked about was how it inconvenienced drivers. While showing the crushed car. So I'm not surprised by the thoughtless description.

It's a sad day when people have no compassion for a human being, but would immediately air on every news station the tragedy of a dog or any animal that loss it's life in any event! Jesus' have mercy on these people...

This tragedy could have been prevented if he had used marijuana. ("I do not support drugs") but marijuana would have done the trick. I am not promoting drug addiction but the fact that marijuana when you breath it in for a few hours will stop all mental illness. It helped me understand the benefits of doing it just once.

I pray that you are finally at peace now my friend. It saddens me that the world has become so selfish to actually complain about a slight inconvenience when someone just lost their life to depression. Your 2-6 Family loves you brother. #C/O 03 Golden Bulls #DepressionKills

It's sad to see how some focus on the wrong thing, only worrying about themselves..A man just took his life, a child may have just lost a parent and parents have to bury a child.. You can still Go fill your cars up with gas and feed your kids he can't..May God bless his soul and his family.

The story is the man who passed, why is mostly this article about the motorist who were slightly inconvenienced. A man is gone, tanks of gas can be filled back up. You dont get another chance at life. This man has a name , we lose fathers everyday to suicide but society doesnt want to address how family court are killing them. He may have jumped, but the system put him on the bridge

Why in the world.all your talking about in this story is that people had to wait and they was getting tired.do y'all not get that a mom just lost her son.or a little boy or girl just lost their dad.who cares about having to sit in your car for a few hours.pray for the family who will now no longer have their son around.
