What bothers me the most about this article, is how the writer excused the human part of this person, and turned him into an "inconvenience." No one knows what goes through the mind, of a person, feeling the need to end his, or her life. No one can see the inside of this person, or the hopelessness they're feeling, when they make that decision to follow through. Ultimately, the decision comes without thoughts of tomorrow, or, with an overwhelming desire to spare others in their lives, from having to deal with them. This article, and I am certain, many to follow, will attempt to explain why someone would make the decision to end their life. I just hope, that those who write about this subject in the future, will remember that the person was a WHOLE HUMAN BEING. And, that whole human being, now has a family that is permanently without, that whole human being. God Bless him, and his family.

So we just gone say a man named Chris???? ...God please help the minds that feel closed and lost. Be kind to others. Be helpful and show compassion. My prayers to his family. Just had a friend buried literally thod past Saturday from suicide. 21 yrs old. Would've been 22 may 19! A man named Chris tho???!!!! Really??!! Yes I can understand running out of gas no air and no food esp having babies. Its essential to point out the chain effect of such an action and how others are impacted, but to down play the suicide and not even recognize the individual is sad. Prayers to all who witnessed it and maybe even hit him unexpectedly. I love you all

Poor fella. I'm really sorry to hear about this. Its unreal how callous this world is anymore, and appalling how much NC utterly lacks compassion that when a person is driven to this extreme, whiners come out to carry on abt "inconvenience". Its reminiscent of how NC & the rest of the seedy south treat minorities, immigrants, the homeless, etc. Then, they want to hold surveys, like Fayetteville, to find out why ppl hold them in contempt. HELLLLOOOOOO! ANYONE IN THERE?! SMDH. WHAT ABOUT BASIC HUMANITY?! SOCIETY REALLY SUCKS... HUH... PERHAPS THAT'S WHAT THIS POOR SOUL WAS STRUGGLING WITH- WAKE THE F UP PPL!!!!! TREAT OTHERS RIGHT!!!!! IT MAY JUST BE THAT GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT THE BIGGEST THREAT RIGHT NOW!

It is sad any person feels that is the only way out is to take their and I hate it for his family.I was one of those who was stuck in traffic during the 6+ hours of shutdown. It wasn't as bad as Chris losing his life of course however it wasn't fun at all.I for one hadn't eat since 1pm or peed since 5 pm. I got stopped @10:54pm and didn't get home until 5:10 am.so yes I was tired, sleepy, hungry & past ready to pee. Thankfully I did have plenty of gas but there was more then a few who ran out of gas.the worst of it was parents trying to explain to their hungry children there was no food or drink for them.I had some chips in my car that I gave to 2 kids however one family I chatted with had a 5 month old baby and not enough milk with them. The mother was in tears because her small child was hungry and crying non stop. I saw men women & children using the bathroom outside of their vehicles. I think they could have done better with the traffic situation. they could have started detours long before they did. Had it been only a hour or two shut down then maybe the news wouldn't have had much to say but it was over 6 hours. And until the last hour people didn't know what was going on.I myself called 911 because we all thought at first they was working on the road.
