A homicide in uptown Charlotte erupted overnight

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred near the intersection of North College Street and East 12th Street in Charlotte, NC.

Shortly before 4:10 a.m. on October 16, 2020, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the mentioned intersection. A male victim with an apparent gunshot wound was found in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics.

No arrests have been made.
