A security guard in a Target department store killed a homeless man during a shooting. The suspect stabbed a 9-year-old boy and a 25-year-old woman inside a Target in Los Angeles, CA.

At 6:20 p.m. the 40-year-old homeless male suspect entered the store and grabbed a large butcher style knife from a shelf.

The homeless suspect then confronted the 9-year-old child, telling the boy he was going to kill him several times.

The frightened child ran, but the suspect lunged and stabbed the child in the back with the knife.

The man then ran to another part of the store where a group of women were shopping. The suspect stabbed one of the women in the chest with the knife.

The suspect ran to the front of the Target store where he was confronted by an armed security guard.

The security guard tried to stop the attacker with a baton, but when that did not work, the guard shot the suspect.

The suspect was taken to the hospital by paramedics. The suspect died at the hospital. The boy and the woman are in critical condition and have lost large amounts of blood.
