A mother's worst nightmare occurred in Kannapolis, NC. On March 9 a woman walked in on Homer Compton, 47, sexually molesting her daughter. Homer is a known acquaintance of the family.
In efforts to get ready for jail, Homer Compton should probably watch the movie 'Straight Outta Compton'.
Rowan County deputies were called to a home in reference to a sexual assault. When they arrived, authorities spoke with a woman and the girl.
The mother told deputies she called 911 after she walked in on Homer molesting her daughter inside a home on Danfield Drive. The mother confronted Homer, and at that moment Homer became upset, grabbed a rifle in the house, and began making suicidal threats. The mother and her daughter left the house and fled to a nearby address.
When deputies went to the home on Danfield Drive to arrest Homer, he refused to come out. After about 20 minutes of negotiations, Homer agreed to come out of the home unarmed and was arrested without incident.
Detectives said based on information they obtained, it appeared that Homer had been molesting the 7-year-old girl for several months.
Homer was charged with six counts of statutory rape, two counts of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult, and four counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Homer was given a bond of $1.25 million and was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center.
