A child custody dispute turned violent and resulted in a shooting

In May 2020 several suspects were arrested from a shooting that occurred in April 2020 on Twin Brook Drive Charlotte, NC.

Dontae Harrison, 22, Ashley Clark, 27, and Aubre Randolph, 25, were all charged.

On April 7, 2020, at approximately 5:42 p.m. one male had sustained a gunshot wound on Twin Brook Drive. 

Ashley had gone to a residence to obtain custody of her child that she shared with a male at that address. After an argument ensued, an acquaintance of Ashley identified as Aubre is accused of retrieving an assault rifle and damaging a window of a vehicle parked at that residence. 

Gun fire was exchanged between two parties which resulted in approximately eight rounds striking the residence, which was occupied by six people. In total, two residences and a vehicle were shot into. Officers also recovered two firearms and located 58 shell casings at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, the listed people were charged as follows:

  • Aubre Randolph: assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property, felony conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
  • Ashley Clark: assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property, felony conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
  • Dontae Harrison: assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property and felony conspiracy.
