On October 18, 2022 in the late afternoon a shootout unfolded in front of kids on a school bus. The shooting was on West Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Fredrick Dickson, 21, Messiyah McManus, 19, Timmie Smith, 19, and Arthur Kirkpatrick, 21, were all arrested.

The preliminary investigation revealed that shots were fired from a black Dodge Charger as a result of a road rage incident. The shooting occurred near a Charlotte Mecklenburg School bus traveling in the same direction on West Boulevard near Remount Road.

The occupants in the Dodge Charger are accused of shooting several gunshots at another vehicle. The kids on the bus ducked for cover upon seeing and hearing the shots.

The bus was not struck and no injuries were reported by students. The bus was not involved in the road rage incident. The vehicle that was the intended target was occupied by a single victim and the vehicle was struck by gunfire. The victim was not injured and there was no return gunfire.

The Dodge Charger then sped away.

Officers located the Dodge Charger around 10 p.m. and initiated a vehicle pursuit that lasted approximately ten minutes.

The pursuit ended on Old Pineville Road after the driver crashed. The suspects were arrested and taken into jail custody.

Two firearms were recovered, including one that was reported stolen. Fredrick, Messiyah, Timmie, and Arthur were charged with shooting into vehicle.
