Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation after someone's skeleton was found in a wooded area in Charlotte, NC. On March 28, 2021, at approximately 10:36 a.m. the skeletal remains of a human body was discovered in a wooded area near Friendship Village Place in west Charlotte. This case is being investigated as a homicide. 

Homicide detectives are working with the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner's Office to identify the victim.
