Jesus Lopez, 24, was the driver of a speeding Ford F-150 that crashed into a brick pillar and a power pole on Kilborne Drive Charlotte, NC.
The single vehicle crash resulted in life threatening injuries for the passenger.
On December 14, 2019 at 11:39 a.m., a 2001 Ford F-150, driven by Jesus was sitting in the roadway with heavy front and passenger side damage.
The preliminary investigation shows that the Ford F-150 was traveling on Kilborne Drive at a high rate of speed and lost control. The vehicle veered off the right side of the road and simultaneously struck a brick pillar and a power pole with the passenger side of the vehicle and came to a final rest in the street.
Front airbags did deploy, however the driver was not wearing his seat belt officials say. The passenger was wearing his seat belt. Open containers of alcohol were located in the vehicle. The passenger was transported to Atrium Health Center Main where he remains in critical condition.
Jesus the driver was screened for impairment and subsequently arrested. Jesus was charged with Felony Serious Injury, DWI, and Reckless Driving.
After being cleared from the hospital for a minor injury Jesus was transported to the local jail.
