On September 2, 2020 Randy Carr, 57, was arrested for his alleged involvement in a violent attack and sexual assault on a woman.
Shortly before 2:25 a.m. on September 2, 2020, officers responded to allegations of a sexual assault on West 28th Street Charlotte, NC.
A 29-year-old female was walking along the street when she was approached by a suspect. She attempted to get away from the suspect by running from him, but the suspect chased after her and ultimately physically and sexually assaulted her and took her personal belongings.
The police sexual assault unit immediately responded to assist with the investigation and began canvassing the area in search for evidence and additional information. While canvassing the area, detectives located Randy, who allegedly matched the description of the suspect.
Randy was interviewed by detectives, and at the conclusion of the interview Randy was arrested and charged with attempted second degree rape, second degree sex offense, first degree kidnapping, common law robbery, assault on a female, and sexual battery.
