18-year-old Treveon Nelson was arrested on Friday April 30, 2021. Treveon is accused of murdering 15-year-old Sanaa Amenhotep in Leesville, South Carolina. Treveon and two minors have been charged with murder, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
One of the minors is a male and the other minor is a female.
According to police, the three suspects lured Sanaa from her home in Richland County, South Carolina on April 5, 2021 and held her in a stolen vehicle as they traveled to Leesville. Sanaa was shot dead in a field.
Sanaa's body was discovered in a wooded area off Interstate 20 on April 29, 2021.
The Lexington County Coroner's office said Sanaa died from multiple gunshot wounds, and officially ruled the death as a homicide.
The minor male is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. The minor female is being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
