Jamario Clinton, 26, shot a man 12 times in front of the victim's 3-year-old daughter on Hovis Road Charlotte, NC. On September 16, 2022 Jamario was convicted of attempted first degree murder along with other charges.
In March 2021, the father was walking his 3-year-old daughter home from the park in west Charlotte when Jamario pulled up alongside him in a vehicle on Hovis Road and began shooting.
Jamario fired his gun from inside his vehicle and then got out of his car and shot the victim again. The victim's daughter was screaming and crying in fright. Then, Jamario drove away.

Good Samaritans nearby rushed to aid the victim and care for the child. But Jamario circled back around, got out of his car, and shot the victim again at point blank range.
The victim suffered 12 gunshot wounds but survived after extensive surgeries. The girl was not shot. Jamario was not arrested until 3 months later.
At his 2022 trial Jamario was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and attempted murder.
A judge sentenced Jamario to 264-329 months in prison. The evidence showed that Clinton and the victim had been involved in a disagreement.
