Jamaal Porterfield, 27, is the newly charged suspect in the murder of Jakailah Jackson, 27, and Dondrake Blackmoore, 26, Jamaal was arrested on November 6, 2020. Xaveon Dunn, 22, was the first suspect charged in the case, he was arrested in October 2020.

The victims were killed in front of their own child in Charlotte, NC on October 19, 2020.

Jakailah and Dondrake were savagely killed in a shooting on Kilborne Drive at a gas station in front of their child. A vehicle pulled up beside them and shot Dondrake in the face, Jakailah was shot too. The suspect then fled.

Dondrake died on site. Jakailah was taken to the hospital by paramedics, but she eventually died. The child of the deceased victims was not shot.

As a result of continued investigation, a warrant was issued against Porterfield for Felony Accessory After the Fact to Murder. On November 6, 2020, Porterfield was arrested for this charge during a traffic stop in Bluefield, West Virginia.  

Porterfield will be extradited to North Carolina at a later date.
