It was a violent ruthless night for Charlotte, NC as there were two murders within hours of each other.

Derrick Chambers, 31, was the first man to be killed in a robbery style shooting at apartments on Barrington Drive on April 6. In that robbery a suspect walked through the back door and robbed Derrick and another man before shooting both of them.

Derrick was killed on scene and the other man was rushed to the hospital, but is expected to be okay.

A few hours later 29-year-old Teaun Bates was shot and killed at the Delta Crossing Apartments on Delta Crossing Lane.
