On April 13, 2020 a U.S. Navy sailor died of complications related to COVID-19. The sailor was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt. The Navy sailor was admitted to the intensive care unit of the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam on April 9, 2020. The USS Theodore Roosevelt was forced to dock in Guam last month after an outbreak on-board.

The sailor, whose named is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification, tested positive for COVID-19 on March 30. The sailor was removed from the ship and placed in an isolation house on Naval Base Guam with four other USS Theodore Roosevelt sailors, the Navy says.

The Navy announced that 585 Theodore Roosevelt sailors had tested positive for Coronavirus.
