39-year-old Vatsla Watkins is dead. On Monday, March 19, 2019 Vatsla was reported missing in Charlotte, NC by her family. Her husband is business owner Curtis Watkins.

On Sunday, March 31, 2019, at 5:45 p.m., 911 received a call stating a person was floating in Lake Wylie by the Buster Boyd Bridge. Vatsla was confirmed as the dead body floating in the water. Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Lake Wylie Boat Patrol as well as the Charlotte-Fire Department responded to the scene. Officers notified homicide detectives along with Crime Scene Search and the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Vatsla was pronounced deceased on scene. Subsequent investigation revealed that the victim was indeed Vatsla Watkins. There is no foul play suspected. Vatsla likely killed herself by entering the lake and drowning.

Vatsla was a fashion expert and had thousands of followers on Instagram. Vatsla is originally from India, but moved to the United States when she was 18 years old. Vatsla had two kids, including one that was born within the last year. Postpartum depression effects women with young kids, although postpartum depression has not been ruled as the official cause that affected Vatsla's death.
