VIDEO: BASKETBALL PLAYERS SHOOT OUT AT UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO, TEEN KILLED

Video shows a deadly gun battle between college basketball players on University of New Mexico's campus

Newly released video shows a shooting that killed 19-year-old Brandon Travis on November 19, 2022 at The University of New Mexico. Mike Peake killed Brandon in self defense. Mike is a basketball player for New Mexico State University.

The altercation was caused due to a large fight at a football game a few weeks before the November 19th shooting involving Brandon, Jonathan Smith, and 19-year-old Eli’Sha Upshaw. 

Mya Hill was then used by Brandon and his friends to lure Mike to the campus of the University of Mexico. Mya does so, and is seen walking with Mike at 3 a.m. in the parking lot of a dormitory building on November 19th. 

It was then that Brandon, and 2 other men police say were Jonathan and Upshaw run towards Mike and beat him. One of the men hits Mike with a bat. Brandon then fires shots at Mike. 

Mike is seen running away, while Brandon is still chasing and shooting at him. Mike then pulls out a gun and shoots Brandon dead.

Mike is seen limping after being shot by Brandon. Mya and the men that were with Brandon run away. Mike was admitted into the hospital. Mike has not been arrested, cops say he was acting in self defense when he shot and killed Brandon. 

However, Mike has been suspended from the New Mexico State University basketball team indefinitely.

Mya was arrested for her role in the altercation.  

Jonathan has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, and two counts of tampering with evidence.

Eli’Sha was arrested charged with two counts of aggravated battery, conspiracy, and  tampering with evidence.
