VIDEO: WALMART TRUCK HAULING BEEF CAUSES FIRE ON INTERSTATE 77 IN WEST CHARLOTTE

Watch as a Walmart truck hauling hamburgers caused a fire on I-77. BBQ and cookout smells were in the air

On August 16, 2022 a Walmart 18-wheeler truck caused a massive crash on Interstate 77 in Charlotte, NC. The crash was near Freedom Drive. The Walmart truck was carrying a large amount of beef and sausage. 

The Walmart truck hit a guard barrier and the truck quickly caught on fire.

Charlotte Fire responded to the tractor-trailer on fire. When Charlotte Fire arrived on the scene the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

Charlotte Fire deployed several fire trucks to put out the fire. Firefighters utilized tankers to extinguish the fire. The tractor trailer was hauling meat, and there was no danger to the environment.

34 Charlotte firefighters controlled the incident. The driver of the Walmart vehicle was able to exit with injuries. The patient was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Traffic was backed up for hours. Clean up efforts continue, the public is asked to use extreme caution while traveling in the area. The incident is under investigation by North Carolina Highway Patrol.
