 Lajames Ross, 24, was arrested on Nov. 30 for stealing a woman's car and sexually assaulting her at a gas station. 

 On September 14, 2018, at 5:30 a.m., a 22-year-old woman advised that she was at a gas station on Lawyers Road when she was approached by an unknown black male. The suspect got into the victims vehicle and forced her to drive off. While in the vehicle, the suspect brandished a weapon and sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene. 

Lajames was identified as the suspect and was arrested in Lancaster, South Carolina with the assistance of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. Lajames is waiting to be extradited back to North Carolina, where he will be transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. Lajames is charged with two counts of First Degree Kidnapping, First Degree Sex Offense, and First Degree Rape.
