SUSPECT ROBS HISPANIC MAN, FORCED VICTIM TO DRIVE TO AN ATM
On October 2 , 2019 Keyschonn Figgs, 17, was charged in two separate robberies, both involving latino people in Charlotte, NC.
On September 22, 2019 at 11:05 p.m., a victim was approached on English Hills Drive by a suspect. The suspect presented a gun and demanded cash from the victim. The victim told the suspect he did not have any money on him. The suspect demanded the victim to drive to the nearest ATM and withdraw funds.
The victim did as he was told and drove the suspect back to the apartment complex. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
On September 23, 2019 at 9:37 p.m., another victim was approached on English Hills Drive by a suspect. A gun was pointed at the victim and property was demanded from the victim by the suspect. The suspect obtained the property and fled on foot, getting away.
Keyschonn was identified as the suspect in both cases. Keyschonn was located on October 2, 2019 and arrested charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of second degree kidnapping.
Keyschonn has since been released. He has a previous charge of common law robbery in 2018 which that charge was dismissed in 2019.
In both September 2019 cases the victims were Hispanics and were approached from behind while walking to their apartments. However, both victims complied and were not physically harmed.
