An employee at the Mr. C's Soul food restaurant was shot during a robbery

Deonte Curry, 25, and Trevon Ricks, 24, are the two suspects that have been charged with the attempted murder of a 48-year-old female employee of Mr. C's Soul Food restaurant.

On Thursday, March 5, 2020, at around 12:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of an armed robbery and shooting at Mr. C’s located at 3726 North Tryon Street Charlotte, NC.

When officers arrived Deonte was still on scene fighting with the victims inside the business. Officers quickly detained Deonte and also began to provide medical attention to the 48-year-old female employee who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

A police dog and additional patrol units were immediately dispatched; and their concerted efforts resulted in the quick apprehension of Trevon. Armed Robbery Unit detectives and Crime Scene Search then responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and process the scene.

Their preliminary investigation indicated two suspects entered the business with the intention to commit a robbery. During the course of the robbery, one of the suspects began to fight the employees of the business and ultimately shot one of the employees multiple times.

Both Deonte and Trevon were charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
