WOMAN CARJACKED AT GUN POINT, FORCED AND THROWN FROM VEHICLE

A carjacking after an overnight pursuit resulted in the arrest of two suspects

Jontez McLeod, 25, and Ricky Bush, 19, were arrested after a robbery investigation turned into a high speed chase.

On January 13, 2020, at 10:20 p.m., a woman reported being robbed on Doggett Street Charlotte, NC.

The 27-year-old female victim reported she was exiting her vehicle when she was ordered by an armed suspect to surrender her keys and personal belongings. 

The armed suspect and his associate allegedly forcibly removed the victim from her vehicle, and then stole her vehicle.  A few hours later, the Real Time Crime Center notified patrol units of a license plate reader hit on the stolen vehicle. 

Officers located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the driver refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. 

The pursuit ended near the intersection of Green Street and Hovis Road, where officers detained all occupants without incident. 

Ricky was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. 

The alleged driver of the vehicle, Jontez was also charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony flee to elude and several other charges.
