The Havasupai Tribe is looking to fill the following positions:

The Havasupai Tribe of the Havasupai Indian Reservation is accepting applications for the following positions: Tribal Court Chief Judge, Tribal Finance Manager and IDEA Program Director positions(s).

The Havasupai Tribal Government is governed by seven Tribal Council members who are elected into office by the people. Travel is required: Supai is located on a remote reservation. The Havasupai Tribal courthouse and school is located at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Access to the village is by 8 mile trail or on a helicopter (weather permitting).

TRIBAL CHIEF JUDGE
Pay: Contract Employee (No Benefits)
Qualifications: Have a juris doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school. Be a member in good standing of the bar of any state or federal court. Be at least (25) years of age. Have experience as a tribal judge exercising civil, criminal and juvenile jurisdiction. Have considerable knowledge of Federal Indian law, of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and of Evidence, and of Arizona law. Have no felony convictions, no serious misdemeanor conviction. Demonstrate the ability to analyze difficult and complex facts and issues and to issue clear oral and written decisions based on application of the facts and issues to the applicable law. Be familiar with alternative sentencing and restorative justice. Demonstrate judicial knowledge and temperament. Demonstrate knowledge of docket management. Courtroom management and case management bookkeeping, record keeping and case management. Submit to and pass pre-employment background check and drug screen, including FBI criminal history background check. FINANCE MANAGER
Pay: Contract Employee (No Benefits)
Qualifications: Under the direct supervision of the Havasupai Council, the Havasupai Indian Tribe is seeking to hire a well qualified Fiancé Manager. The Finance Manager will manage a staff of (5) employees and will report directly to the Tribal Council. Applicant must have Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 6+years experience in Finance or Accounting with governmental agencies: Bureau of Indian Affairs, State, and Federal agencies. 2+ years in supervisory position Proficient in MS Office with focus in Excel, Good Knowledge of Federal Grant Requirements, Excellent communication and Analytical ability Applicant must be able to successfully pass a Pre-employment drug/alcohol and background investigation. IDEA PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Pay: Contract Employee (No Benefits)
Qualifications: Under the direct supervision of the Havasupai Council, prepares and maintains all case files within the following IDEA regulations. Applicant performs this job successfully, must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/ or ability required. Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED, and three years clerical experience, including two year experience in Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
