According to the council’s website, “Victoria will take you back in history to discuss how the Southern Wintun (Patwin) lived and used the resources that were available. She’ll discuss how their lives and the landscape have changed since Spanish, Mexican, and Anglo settlers arrived in the region. Her presentation will cover a time span of pre-European contact, to when the Berryessa brothers acquired a Mexican land grant, to the town of Monticello before the current Lake Berryessa, all the way through the last Wintun in the area.”
The talk will be held at 7 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Center Club Room, 203 E. 14th St. in Davis, California. The talk is open to the public and a $5 donation is requested but not required. For more information visit the Putah Creek Council online or call 530-400-8431.
