Native American Natural Foods Debuts Tanka Trail Snacks, New Tanka Bar Flavors

Today foodies will taste the most recent release from Native American Natural Foods at the Natural Products Expo West tradeshow in Anaheim, California, March 11-13.

The entirely new line of buffalo snacks is called Tanka Trail. They’re actually heart-healthy buffalo bites with trail mix, and they’re 100 percent natural and come in at under 150 calories.

Made from nuts, seeds and sweet fruits, pressed with prairie-raised buffalo or turkey, the Tanka Trail snack products are packaged in an innovate resealable double pouch. The convenient storage is really a game changer for mess-free, backpack carrying. Protein-rich Tanka Trail snacks are targeted at anyone on the go — attention pow wow dancers, road warriors and busy moms — looking for authentic, high-performance food to fuel their active lifestyles. Tanka Trail is gluten-free, hormone-free and low-fat.

“Based on a traditional Native American recipe that powered Lakota Sioux warriors for centuries, the new Tanka Trail and Tanka Bar products extend our product lines for our customers who need to re-fuel on the go,” said Mark Tilsen, president of Native American Natural Foods.

The Tanka Trail snacks will come in three varieties:

-Blueberry Almond with Slow Smoked Original Tanka Buffalo

-Mango Pepper with Turkey Buffalo and Cranberry Jerky

-Coconut Almond with Slow Smoked Original Tanka Buffalo

The company will also debut two new Tanka Barflavors: Tanka Bar Jalapeno and Tanka Bar Teriyaki, combining prairie-raised buffalo meat with tart-sweet cranberries. Tanka Bars have already garnered a fanbase with its three original flavors: Apple Orange Peel, Slow Smoked Original and Spicy Pepper. Gluten-free, nitrate-free, MSG-free and hormone-free, Tanka Bars are still guaranteed shelf-stable for up to 12 months.
