Originally starting as the Christopher Street Liberation Day March, this weekend’s New York Gay Pride parade marks 44 years of LGBTQ pride.

Among the millions who came to New York to show their pride (including Hillary Clinton and many others) The East Coast Two Spirit Society also came to participate in the parade with dancers, a pow wow drum group and even music DJ Red Daughter.

Two Spirit musician Tony Enos (Eastern Band Cherokee) said the entire event was “Effing amazing! All of the hard work everyone did, all of the stress to put all of this together, all of it was absolutely worth it to see the hundreds of thousands of people in support of everything.”

“The whole event was just a blessing, to feel such love and support was incredible,” said Enos.

As part of the EC2SS float, Pow wow drumming by the drum group Silver Cloud was for the dancers as they moved down the parade route. The crowd erupted in cheer at every turn.
