It was a flurry of celebration, song and Native li li li's as the city of Los Angeles invited residents to gather Saturday morning to watch crews remove a bronze statue depicting Christopher Columbus.
Key players in the removal were Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell, and the Los Angeles City/County Native American Indian Commission.
