The the judge in this story, Michael Corey, is up for re-election in November. If you live in Alaska's Judicial District 3, VOTE NO to retain Judge Michael Corey in November! Judicial District 3 is comprised of Anchorage, most of Southcentral Alaska, and Southwest/Aleutian Islands.

I am geting a hold of Judge Michael Corey. This is systemic racism and mysogeny. With all that's going on #metoo and the outright murder of Native Women he needs to be ousted. There is a rally on Oct 6th and more info here.

Thank you for your straightforward account of the attack on the Native woman, in which you gave details (masturbation, the ejaculation on her). I thank you because we need more (and straighter) straight talk about the problem of normalizing violence against women. Far too often, it is taken for granted in society -- Native and non-Native -- that it is normal, natural and somehow okay to act out against females and then dismiss the tragic shaming, demeaning effect of this on the females and on our entire society. I want to see more awareness of the point of view of females -- and not just the point of view, but our feelings, our development into mothers, grandmothers and society members. Men and their wants and their careers, ideas, goals and feelings are not more important than those of women and girls. Peg Wortman
