Why are Canadian and Alaskan tribes recognized by the Federal Government but not tribes from Mexico?

Why are legitimately, established Native Nations (USA) not publically-celebrated nor acknowledged in MEXICO - the country/nation? Is it because of past 100 years of oppressive Mexican Government standards and attitudes that "alternative" opinions and views are NOT ALLOWED nor ENCOURAGED? - The problem is not the United States.....the problem is MEXICO and most of all Central American Governments - under the watch of the UNITED NATIONs Council (New York City).

Shyanne, "Hispanic" is used by those that would like to separate Mexicans from their indigenous relationship to this continent. If you are 100% indigenous, I'm very jealous but it's more likely that many, many northern indigenous have European blood in them English, Dutch, Irish, Scottish, French, etc. because those Europeans did the same thing here in North America that the Spanish, Portuguese & French did in the Southern part of the Americas. They just weren't as evilly cleaver in their cover-up as the English & Dutch.

Actually, Shyanne, there are more Indigenous people south of the American border than north of it. Mexico alone has 9 million people who are members of Indigenous tribes--that's more than twice the number of Indians in the U.S. Some states in Mexico have more than 60 percent Indigenous population, and the majority of them speak their languages to boot. So I do believe that even though there are many mestizos in Mexico, there are a lot of Native people down there too.

Lindajean2005, Hispanics are labeled as such because your ancestors were the Invading Spanish. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hispanic The term Hispanic (Spanish: hispano or hispánico) broadly refers to the people, nations, and cultures that have a historical link to Spain.

It commonly applies to countries once under colonial possession by the Spanish Empire following Spanish colonization of the Americas,

Probably because of the immigration issue. Mexico has the largest population with Native American blood. There's a lot of natives mix with other races. My ancestors were nomadic so imagine that?? That's why they labeled us Hispanics or Latinos.
