2018 Fort Hall Christmas Expo is Bigger and Better!

Over 100 vendors will be showcasing unique handmade arts & crafts for the 6th annual Shoshone-Bannock Christmas Expo

Over 100 vendors from the local region will be showcasing unique handmade arts & crafts for the 6th annual Christmas Expo held at the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel & Event Center. The Expo will be held on November 29 to December 1st from 10AM-9PM. There is no admission charge and include daily family fun events.

The Christmas Expo officially opens on Thursday, November 29th at 10AM with an opening ceremony to include a welcome by Tribal dignitaries, a hand drum song by Tribal member Tyson Shay and prayer. A school performance will be conducted by Lillian Vallely School youth of Blackfoot on Thursday at 10AM and Fort Hall Head Start youth perform on Thursday at 12:30PM. On Friday, Fort Hall Elementary performs at 1PM and later an Ugly Sweater Christmas Contest will be held at 5-6PM. On Saturday, Tribal performers Alonzo Bighorse and TJ Diaz will hold a special musical performance. Santa Claus will also visit from 2-4PM, followed by a special solo performance by Bryan Hudson singing Great Basin hand drum songs.

According to Leah Bryan of Newe Creations, “Our members have a strong history and a passion for creating and selling crafts as well as making a substantial network within our community. Because of our work, we fully understand the importance of selling handmade products; therefore, we strive in creating a perfect environment for you and your family at our Christmas Expo. We are contributing to the local economy as our hotel is sold out for the weekend and we have many visitors coming in from out of state to attend our annual expo.”

The event is free and open to the public. Vendors include both Tribal and non-Tribal vendors selling handmade beadwork items, toys, baked goods, jewelry, blankets, Pendleton items, candles, oils, along with two massage vendors offering on-the-spot massage services. There will also be a raffle drawing for items including a 49” Smart TV, Shoshone-Bannock Hotel & spa package, a Pendleton vest and various other unique items. Raffle tickets are $5.00 or 5 tickets for $20.00. Winners will be announced on Saturday, December 1st at 5:30PM.
