Dolly Parton's Stampede
Guests at Dolly Parton’s Stampede in Branson, Missouri are encouraged to arrive early to stroll the beautiful Horsewalk and meet the four-legged stars of the show, then the excitement kicks off in the Carriage Room. This year, back for a second terrific season are the White River Wranglers.
This award-winning, fun-loving band of brothers take guests on a musical journey through the history of Ozark Mountain music with classic folk tunes, early country, southern rock, and hard-driving bluegrass.
Steven Baldridge is the middle brother who sings mostly baritone and plays banjo. “We’re very thankful and proud to be a part of the Stampede,” said Steven Baldridge. “Our whole performance from start to finish keeps the crowd on the edge of their seat. This is a dream job come true and sometimes I pinch myself to make sure it’s real.”
Originally from Okmulgee, Oklahoma and descendants of the descendants of the Muscogee (Creek) Tribe, their families now call in Branson home. They’ve been performing together on stage for 37 years.
Paul Baldridge is the oldest brother, sings high tenor and plays guitar. “We’d probably be miserable if we didn’t work together, “ Paul shared. “We’re performing at the finest establishment in the entertainment business. It’s a great honor and we’re humbled.”
Shawn is the youngest, playing upright bass and singing all the low notes. Crowds sometimes shout for Shawn to sing songs like “Hello Darlin’”, “Lay You Down”, and “Long Black Train”, which features his vocalized long train whistle.
Shawn stated, “Playing music with my brothers is a blessing. Our Dad was a pastor and brought us up in music. It’s where we got our foundation. We bring all of our past experience to this stage at Dolly Parton’s Stampede. We’re proud to be part of this fine attraction.”
The brothers have been widely recognized for their talents in the music business, winning numerous instrumental and quartet singing awards and trophies throughout their 25 years performing.
