GREEN BAY, Wis. – Mavid Construction Services LLC, founded in 2008 to provide nationwide construction solutions to Native-American communities, celebrated its 10th anniversary with a reception May 3 at Lodge Kohler in Green Bay, Wis. Under the leadership of Managing Partner Zoar Fulwilder, Mavid has grown into a multi-faceted construction company that today handles large-scale, high-profile work and state projects of all types.

According to Fulwilder, Mavid Construction maintains a strong commitment to workforce development within the tribal communities it serves, along with a pledge to utilize materials sourced from Native-American companies whenever possible. The company’s services include metal stud & drywall, glass & glazing, commercial doors & hardware, and commercial flooring.

“Ten years has gone by quickly for Mavid Construction,” says Fulwilder. “It’s extremely gratifying to see new tribal facilities in areas I grew up in – it’s been transformative for these communities. I’m proud to have had Mavid play a small part in that, in addition to helping to improve the lifestyle of tribal members by providing a consistent income source for those who have worked for Mavid.”

The company’s first-ever project was Casino Arizona at Talking Stick Resort and Convention Center in Scottsdale, Ariz. Reflecting on the 10-year history of Mavid Construction, Fulwilder believes that the $1.3-million contract for drywall installation at Casino Arizona was a linchpin for company success.

“The Casino Arizona project let us know how we wanted to operate as a construction company and what we needed to do to handle large projects,” Fulwilder says. “It also demonstrated our capabilities to other Native-American tribes and began a track record of quality work within and outside tribal communities.”

Mavid Construction expanded into state work with the Union South student activity center at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis., in 2009 – which remains as one of the company’s largest and most difficult drywall projects in its history. Mavid Construction since has performed work on educational buildings, housing structures and athletic facilities at a number of colleges and universities throughout Wisconsin, including the Falcon Center at UW-River Falls which opened last year.

Mavid Construction also has a long history of participation in redevelopment projects at Lambeau Field, the iconic home of the Green Bay Packers. Among Mavid’s work at Lambeau Field has been drywall and panelized metal for the exterior shell, flooring and glass within the club seating areas, retractable window systems for the luxury suites and 2016 team-space improvements.

True to its roots, Mavid Construction also continues to handle high-quality projects for Native-American tribal communities. These have included Lac Vieux Desert Health Center in Watersmeet, Mich., and Green Valley Elder Village housing in Oneida, Wis. The Green Valley project was honored by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Wisconsin in 2017 with a BUILD Wisconsin Award.

Mavid Construction Services LLC, a State of Wisconsin MBE certified contractor, specializes in metal stud and drywall, commercial flooring, glass and glazing, and commercial doors and hardware.
