The Celebration marking the Grand Opening of the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel was held on Saturday, February 23, 2019. The day's highlights included: an employee kick off; a free Vintage Vegas Tribute Show; jackpot winners; and thirty players winning cash prizes in the Mega Spins giveaway.

"The day truly had something for all," said Echo Marshall, Executive Marketing Director. "All of the amenities were open, the High Stakes Bingo sessions were well attended and most enjoyed the new food offerings in the Painted Horse Buffet and Deka Gahni Deli."

Cupcakes, Coffee, Celebrate! was designed for the Front Line Staff and Chief Executive Officer, Pamela Gallegos, to take a moment and appreciate the gravity of the day. 

"It was nice to know that I am a part of this project," said Destiney Tinno. Tinno is the Event and Promotions Coordinator and a 26-year employee. "I have been waiting for this to open, and the day is finally here." 

The free Vintage Vegas Tribute Show included acts from Las Vegas and featured the Rat Pack members of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Junior. In addition, performers such as Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley joined the fun on stage to relive the early days of Las Vegas. The Chiefs Event Center, was set as a cabaret night club and guests were encouraged to dress in theme and dance into the night. 

The first one hundred jackpot winners received a commemorative, logoed jacket and were the envy of everyone around them. By 10 pm, more than 65 jackpots had been won. To qualify, guests had to win a taxable jackpot of more than twelve hundred dollars.

The evening festivities concluded with the Mega Spins giveaway where 30 guests each had a chance to spin the Big Wheel and possibly win one million dollars. In total, almost $30,000 was won for during this promotion. 

"The energy level was high and everyone was excited to see what would happen. This has been a day we will not soon forget," said Marshall. "As we enter this new era for entertainment in our region, we are excited to lead Eastern Idaho into the future." 

About The New Gaming Floor, Casino Expansion Phase II

The New Gaming Floor, Casino Expansion Phase II is the Tribes 85,463 square foot casino addition connected to the west side of the existing Shoshone-Bannock Hotel and Events Center. Along with the new casino floor, there is an addition to the north side of the Event Center, over 300 new parking spaces, a new Bingo Hall, Buffet and Lounge.
