Pico-Union: At 4:08 a.m., Wednesday, December 2, LAFD responded to a greater alarm emergency fire outside that extended into several one-story commercial buildings on the 2200 block of West Pico Boulevard. According to LAFD, it took 85 firefighters 53 minutes to extinguish the blaze that engulfed approximately 20,000 sq ft of commercial building space.
LAFD also stated that the structural integrity of portions of the building has been compromised by the intense heat and that the Department of Building and Safety have been notified. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
