Alert Neighbor Spots Flames From Home in South Charlotte

An alert neighbor noticed flames coming from a home on Five Cedars Road preventing total loss.

On Friday May 10, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Charlotte Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 11501 Five Cedars Road in the McAlpine neighborhood of Charlotte. 911 calls stated a house was on fire at the address. Firefighters quickly arrived and found flames coming from the right side of the two-story home. The actions of a quick thinking neighbor to call 911 and a fast emergency response prevented a total loss of the house. Fire officials confirm no one was living at the home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Investigation Task Force. No injuries were reported.
