Driver Hurt After Car Takes Wild Ride on South Carolina Roadway

A driver was hurt after slamming into a utility pole & tree in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Thursday night causing a mess.

On Thursday, August 15, 2019, at around 8:00 p.m., Rock Hill Fire Department responded to a crash that left a path of destruction on a local roadway. A car ended up head-on into a tree after taking a wild ride that took out a utility pole with it. The crash happened in front of 739 Celriver Rd. The crash took out a utility pole bringing wires down across the roadway. Rock Hill Police Officers and Rock Hill Firefighters had to close Celriver Road to traffic due to the danger of low hanging wires. The male driver was seen being loaded into a Piedmont Medical Center Ambulance on a backboard.

Paramedics transported the single occupant to an area hospital for treatment. It's not clear what caused the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
