Drowning Incident at Ballantyne Apartment Complex Pool

Charlotte Firefighters & Paramedics responded to Legacy at Ballantyne Apartments Saturday for a reported drowning.

Charlotte Firefighters and paramedics responded to a reported drowning Saturday afternoon in the Ballantyne neighborhood. At 4:35 p.m., a 911 call reported a drowning accident at the Legacy at Ballantyne Apartments at 9200 Otter Creek Drive. A Charlotte Fire Department Ladder Truck and Mecklenburg EMS Ambulance were seen outside the apartment complex clubhouse off Ballantyne Commons Parkway.

Sources say the pool at the apartment complex is only about 5 feet in depth. One person was transported to Atrium Health - Carolinas Medical Center. A Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Services Agency spokesperson says the victim suffered serious injuries.

@Cvenaleck Good Afternoon. Our reporters at Key News Network only report factual information. The article states it was a "reported" Drowning. That information came from Mecklenburg EMS Agency. The EMS agency reported to media the incident as a "drowning/diving" accident at the location. They wouldn't comment any further due to HIPAA. Please feel free to contact them or Charlotte Fire Department for an additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
