Pedestrian Hit in Domestic Violence Fight Gone Wrong

An elderly woman minding her own business injured after domestic dispute goes wrong in Charlotte resulting in crash.

On Wednesday, September 19, 2019, at 7:26 p.m., a pedestrian was hit in a domestic violence fight gone wrong Wednesday night in Charlotte, North Carolina. According to police, the elderly female was injured after she was hit by a vehicle involved in a domestic violence dispute. According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, a female driver was chasing her boyfriend down Rea Road after a domestic violence assault. The female suspect hit the boyfriend's vehicle twice intentionally. Police confirm that after the second crash, the suspect’s vehicle flipped over and ended up striking the elderly female who was walking on the sidewalk. The elderly female pedestrian was taken by Mecklenburg County EMS to Atrium Health - Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The female suspect that caused both crashes was not injured and placed under arrest. Police have charged her with Assault With a Deadly Weapon and Reckless Driving.
